Hab\u00eda trabajado como editor e impresor en Colonia desde 1568 hasta 1570; el a\u00f1o siguiente march\u00f3 a B\u00e9lgica, donde permaneci\u00f3 hasta 1584. Su hermano Carlos hab\u00eda formado sociedad con Plantino para ampliar el capital de la editorial. Merced a un contrato fechado el 26 de noviembre de 1563 crearon una \u00abcompagnie d\u2019imprimerie\u00bb Crist\u00f3bal Plantino, Carlos y Cornelio van Bomberghen (que eran primos), Juan Goropio y Jacobo de Schotti. La sociedad dur\u00f3 cuatro a\u00f1os. Cf. F.
