The Correspondence of Benito Arias Montano. Digital Critical Edition

Daniel II van Bomberghen, son of Cornelius I, was born in Antwerp after 1483 and died in 1553. He was a renowned printer of Hebrew books and the owner of a thriving workshop in Venice between 1515 and 1549. Nevertheless, he was forced to leave the city owing to the hostility of the Venetian nobility and inquisitorial decrees. Cf. Van Ortroy, “Les Van Bomberghen d’Anvers», pp. 133–140.
