Crispijn van der Broeck (1524/1530–1591), painter, designer, and architect, was a disciple of Frans Floris. His works include the engravings for Humanae Salutis Monumenta (1571) by Benito Arias Montano (cf. PP, I, 183, nº 588 y PPI, 187, no. 590), the Sacrarum antiquitatum monumenta by Luis Hillesheim (1567), and the frontispiece of Descrittione di tutti i Paesi Bassi, altrimenti detti Germania inferiore In the correspondence between Plantin and BAM, a purchase of paintings from Crispijn is recorded in mid-1572, paid in four installments as documented in the Plantin accounting records (Grand Livre 1568-1573, MPM Arch. 16).
